Serving: 12 servings
Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice (approx. 8-12 lemons)
- 4 to 6 cups cold water (to dilute)
- 1 whole lemon
Simple Syrup:
- 2 cups white, granulated sugar
- 2 cups water (for the simple syrup)
How to make Lemonade:
Simple Syrup
- Place sugar and water in a sauce pan and bring to a simmer on medium heat.
- Make sure that the sugar completely dissolves before removing it from the heat.
- Set aside.
Juice the lemons
- juice 8-12 fresh lemons into a juice container or pitcher.
- Recommend using a lemon squeezer. Make sure that the butt of the lemon is facing upwards and then press.
Assemble the Lemonade
- Combine the lemon juice, simple syrup, and the water into a serving pitcher.
- Add an additional 4-6 cups of cold water depending on your preference. The more water you add the less sweet it will taste.
- Recommend adding slightly less water as you can serve later with ice cubes that will further dilute the lemonade.
- Cut up your whole lemon into think slices and add it into the pitcher for added colour and brightness.
- Feel free to add in other fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, and/or blackberries. (optional)
