Looking for fresh produce and local products? Don’t miss the CR Market, held on the second Sunday of each month from May to September at Simon Park (1450 Du Parc Avenue). From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., explore a variety of vendors offering everything from farm-fresh vegetables to artisanal crafts.

Established in 2023 by Sarah and Matthew Lacombe, the Rockland Community Garden is more than just a place to grow food—it’s a community hub. The garden fosters a sense of togetherness while promoting sustainability and healthy living. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a curious beginner, this space offers inspiration and education for all.
7. Seasonal Events and Festivals
Rockland hosts several lively seasonal events that bring the community together in celebration.
- Clarence-Rockland Festival: A highlight of the summer, this festival features live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and more, creating a vibrant atmosphere that attracts locals and visitors alike.
- Christmas Parade of Lights: Get into the holiday spirit during this enchanting parade, where beautifully lit floats, festive music, and the joy of the season light up the streets of Rockland.
- Growing Green: Rockland Gardening and Sustainability Fair: Celebrate sustainability at the Growing Green Fair, held at L’Escale High School (1535 Du Parc Avenue) on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event highlights eco-friendly practices, gardening techniques, and sustainable living. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn, connect, and grow with like-minded individuals.
8. Arenas and Skating
For those seeking some winter fun, Rockland offers several free skating options.
- Clarence-Creek Arena: Enjoy free public skating on Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The season kicks off on September 28 and runs throughout the winter.
- Clarence-Rockland Arena: In addition to general skating sessions, family skating returns every second Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. It’s the perfect way for families to enjoy some quality time together on the ice.
These rinks offer a fantastic winter experience for families, friends, and individuals alike.
9. Outdoor Adventures and Natural Beauty
From kayaking on the Ottawa River to hiking in the nearby Larose Forest, Rockland is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. The city is also home to about twenty parks, providing ample space for picnics, nature walks, and outdoor activities. Take a leisurely stroll through Parc Simon, tee off at the Rockland Golf Club, or enjoy birdwatching in the serene surroundings.
For winter adventures, Larose Forest offers a stunning natural escape. Known for its nearly 29 kilometres of cross-country ski trails, Larose Forest allows visitors to explore its beautiful forested areas, winding through relatively flat terrain, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned skiers. Whether you prefer to glide across snow-covered trails or enjoy the peaceful forest atmosphere, Larose is a must-visit during any season!
10. The Black Walnut Bakery: A Delicious Stop on Your Journey
Just outside Clarence-Rockland, in the village of Cumberland, you’ll find The Black Walnut Bakery—a small scratch bakery that’s perfect for a stop on your way to or from Rockland. Known for transforming simple ingredients into something beautiful and delicious, every item at the bakery is made from scratch with masterful techniques and a loving touch. Whether you’re in the mood for freshly baked bread, pastries, or sweet treats, The Black Walnut Bakery invites you to take a moment to savour their creations.
The Black Walnut Bakery is a labour of love brought to life by husband-and-wife duo Isaac Fouchard and Myroslava Mykytyn. Their journey began in 2010, when Isaac, a ceramicist, and Myro, a bread baker, dreamed of creating a bakery rooted in passion, quality, and community. After years of dedication, they opened their doors in 2015. Now, alongside their three children and a team of like-minded friends, they pour their hearts into every scratch-made creation.
11. The Mayor’s Annual Golf Tournament
For golf enthusiasts, the Mayor’s Annual Golf Tournament is a must-attend event. This prestigious tournament is a blend of friendly competition and community spirit. At $150 per player, this event not only provides an opportunity to enjoy a round of golf but also supports local youth initiatives. Funds raised will benefit scholarships and non-profit organizations dedicated to empowering young people in the community.
Whether you’re an experienced golfer or a newcomer to the sport, the Mayor’s Golf Tournament promises a memorable day of fun and camaraderie, all for a noble cause.
12. Hammond Golf and Country Club & Dandy Lion Brew Pub
To continue the golf theme, the Hammond Golf and Country Club offers a truly unique experience. Located at 600 du Golf Road, Hammond, this beautiful course provides a relaxing and scenic round of golf.
What makes it even more special is the Dandy Lion Brew Pub, located right on-site. Proudly Ontario’s first golf-brewery, the Dandy Lion combines the love of the game with the art of craft brewing. After a day on the greens, unwind with a refreshing pint of their locally brewed beer in the welcoming atmosphere of the pub.
It’s the perfect way to blend two beloved pastimes—golf and craft beer—into one unforgettable outing.
Clarence-Rockland offers a delightful blend of history, culture, and outdoor recreation. With its warm community, stunning natural surroundings, and unique attractions, it’s a destination that leaves a lasting impression.
