Yield: 1 1/3 cup
Time: 10-15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine (softened)
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp almond milk or milk of choice
- 1/2 cup milk or dark chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp of peanut butter (optional)
How to Make Cookie Dough:
COOK THE FLOUR
Option 1: Microwave
- Place flour in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Heat the flour in 30-second bursts.
- Between each burst, stir the flour thoroughly.
- Once the flour reaches 160 °F the flour is cooked.
- Let the flour completely cool to room temperature before using. This will take about 30 minutes.
Option 2: Oven
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
- On a parchment lined baking sheet, spread the flour evenly onto the pan.
- Bake for about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the flour reaches 160 °F the flour is cooked.
- Let the flour completely cool to room temperature before using. This will take about 30 minutes.
Option 3: Stove Top
- Place flour into a stainless steel pot.
- Turn the stove on to medium heat.
- Using a wooden spoon continuously stir the flour until it reached 160 °F.
- Let the flour completely cool to room temperature before using. This will take about 30 minutes.
COOKIE DOUGH
- In a medium size bowl, mix all ingredients except for flour, almond milk, and chocolate chips until well combined.
- Once combined, add the room temperature flour and mix until flour is well dispersed.
- Beat in the almond milk until well incorporated.
- Once incorporated, with a rubber spatula, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Feel free to eat right away or place in refrigerator for 1 hour for the dough to set and flavour.
