Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Yield: 1 1/3 cup

Time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients:

  •  3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  •  2 tbsp butter or margarine (softened)
  •  3 tbsp maple syrup
  •  3 tbsp granulated sugar
  •  1 tsp vanilla extract
  •  1/4 tsp salt
  •  2 tbsp almond milk or milk of choice
  •  1/2 cup milk or dark chocolate chips 
  • 4 tbsp of peanut butter (optional)

How to Make Cookie Dough:

COOK THE FLOUR

Option 1: Microwave

  1. Place flour in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Heat the flour in 30-second bursts.
  3. Between each burst, stir the flour thoroughly.
  4. Once the flour reaches 160 °F the flour is cooked.
  5. Let the flour completely cool to room temperature before using. This will take about 30 minutes.

Option 2: Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
  2. On a parchment lined baking sheet, spread the flour evenly onto the pan.
  3. Bake for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Once the flour reaches 160 °F the flour is cooked.
  5. Let the flour completely cool to room temperature before using. This will take about 30 minutes.

Option 3: Stove Top

  1. Place flour into a stainless steel pot.
  2. Turn the stove on to medium heat.
  3. Using a wooden spoon continuously stir the flour until it reached 160 °F.
  4. Let the flour completely cool to room temperature before using. This will take about 30 minutes.

COOKIE DOUGH

  1. In a medium size bowl, mix all ingredients except for flour, almond milk, and chocolate chips until well combined.
  2. Once combined, add the room temperature flour and mix until flour is well dispersed.
  3. Beat in the almond milk until well incorporated.
  4. Once incorporated, with a rubber spatula, fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Feel free to eat right away or place in refrigerator for 1 hour for the dough to set and flavour.
  6. Enjoy!
